Time can go by so quickly and yet almost seems to stand still. Whether you are in the throws of grief or have weathered the storm of a few years, time can be your marker to how far you've come through your journey.
Eleven years have come and gone since Bob was killed in the World Trade Center and yet, there are many times that I feel like time stands still with all the raw pain that comes with it. It is those times, that coincide with the holidays and special milestones, when I make an extra effort to volunteer my time to those in need and that always helps to get me out of my own head. So when you are feeling terribly alone, without your spouse by your side, give of yourself to people in need and volunteer. Always remember to keep taking those small steps and that you have made progress on your journey.
~ Standing alone doesn't mean I'm alone...It means I'm strong enough to handle things all by myself ~
Until next time ~ the clouds will clear and you will find your way
In memory of all the Firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice "In the Line of Duty" ~
