Everyone's to-do list always gets longer come November. The holiday season, which begins with Thanksgiving and doesn't let up until just after New Year's can feel like a marathon of forced celebration, with all the family bonding, gift-giving, and socializing. Plan your holidays according to your needs and that of your children. If you have recently lost a loved one, a stress-free holiday season may be in order. Perhaps you are farther along in your journey and familiar traditions with your family and friends may be your choice.
Grief is like a wound, it heals over time but leaves us with a scar that is forever there. Keep in mind that a scar tells us where we've been, but should not define who we are or dictate where we are going.
Take comfort in the love and support of your family and friends this holiday season and honor your loved one in your own special way.
Warm wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving and prayers for God's blessing of peace and comfort.
Until next time, the clouds will clear and you will find your way.
~Paula
